Working on slides..

Hi everyone!

For the past few weeks I have been working on slides for teachers to use in the Cambridge English adult classes. It may seem like an easy task but believe me it really takes a lot of thinking and I really have to exercise my creative bone to quite an extent.

I have to search Mr.Google high and low for suitable pictures to deliver the message or to convey a certain topic to the students. Since the slides are for adult classes I have to make sure the pictures aren't so cartoonish or silly. By looking at the pictures, the students must be able to relate and come up with their own words to describe something.


So you see, the pictures I compile in my slide are according to their topic of discussion and it must be able to trigger their mind for ideas. Pheww..

Well, I'll tell you more about it later as for now I've put them aside and currently making a slide for my English class students. It's about the Form 3 poem, A Fighter's Lines.

While I was searching for extra teaching materials just now, I came across this video in YouTube.
It's a nice video with the phrases from the poem and also pictures. I found it interesting and I will be using them as part of my lesson.

Launch of the latest currency series

Yesterday our Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, launched the new series of currency notes carrying enhanced security features.

The new banknotes come in a newly designed look with elements of the nation - culture and heritage - incorporated in them.
And more colourful too. 

The RM 20 note is making its comeback in a more cheerful and sophisticated look joined by the RM1, RM5, RM10, RM50 and RM100 banknotes and also coins.
This new currency series is expected to be in circulation starting from middle of 2012, although the RM50 note is already in use. However the new coins will be in circulation starting next month.

Somehow it looks more like Monopoly or Saidina board game money to me.. haha

The currency series apparently, comes with a theme - "Distinctive Malaysia".

I can't wait to start using them.. :D

Why This "Koleveri" Fever

 Have you heard the Koleveri song? It has been spreading around like a virus. Everyone's listening to it, posting it on their Facebook walls, using it has their ringtone (i'm one of them) and some even coming out with their own version of the song.

Lake Valley Park @ Bandar Tun Hussein Onn

Okay this may sound unreasonable but then this is the situation. I've got high-speed Internet, but I don't have enough time to indulge in it now, thus unable to update my bloggy.

I only get a few minutes online which is sufficient for me to check my Facebook, give a few comments here and there, like a few photos and time's up. Huhu..

Not that I'm complaining as what deprives me of my time from using the internet is also something that I like doing. Such as going out, help my mother with some simple household chores, go out for dinner, a little shopping and last but not least GOING OUT !.. hahaha

Yes! I've been going out quite a lot ever since I got my mobility back. Mostly go out for makan la..

Sometimes my friend comes and takes me out for breakfast or dinner. Then in the evenings my father takes my family to the Lake Valley Park at Bandar Tun Hussein Onn for walks.

The park is really big and well maintained. There's a big pond in the middle with loads of fish in it and everyone comes with fish food for the fishes there. I don't think they'll ever go hungry as they get abundance of bread and fish food.

The park is under UDA and is being watched over by some security guards. Its open during the day and closed at exactly 7pm.

Most of the time I get tired and sleepy towards night after all the walking and go to bed early. I sleep really well at night now days. No more waking up in the middle of the night feeling uncomfortable.

p/s: I couldn't think of any other suitable title for this post.. hehe :p

Back from holidays..

Happy Wesak Day! How have you guys been? Its a public holiday today. Did ya all go out or pay a visit to Buddha for Wesak Day?

I just got back from my holidays at my grandparents house in Sungai Siput, Perak. I had such a good time there and if only I didn't have to come back home.. :(

I went there on Saturday morning. We moved from the house as early as 5 in the morning and reached around 8am. I was so happy to see my grandparents and so were they. It's been quite a long time since we last went back there. 3 days was just not sufficient enough. Sigh..

Most of all I missed her delicious cooking. The 1st day we had mutton curry and then crab perattal ( its like curry but a thicker version, more of a gravy type ) the next day. So yummy and finger licking gooood!

This is specially for me.
Rice tossed and mixed with the remaining spicy gravy in the hot wok after the crab had been dished out.
Really yummy!

Since I'm still bound to my crutches to move around, I was moving quite slowly and couldn't join my sister and my aunty's children play badminton or go for walks. Instead I spent most of the time playing, petting and taking photos of Sunny Boy.. my grandmothers pet dog. He was not jumping or moving around much, at least when he was tied down so it was quite safe to play with him.

My grandmothers house is quite big compared to mine and since I was walking around the house a lot, my ankle would swell really bad and sometimes a little painful. I had to rub some ointment at night before going to bed to help soothe the pain abit. I was worried about it the first day but then the swelling reduced when I woke up the next day, so I just tolerated the pain. I can't just be sitting at one place and do nothing right?

On Monday night, everyone went to my grandfathers friends daughters wedding dinner except for my parents and me. Dinner at home was not too bad. My mother being a vegetarian herself cooked me a delicious, fat and juicy tiger prawn.

It was just one big prawn all for myself. It was my first time eating tiger prawn and it was good. There was so much flesh and it was sweet. The gravy on the other hand was spicy masala. Great combo!

Very fleshy right?! Sedapp..

Today we got up as early as 4am, packed up, said byebye and left Sungai Siput at 5am.
Reached KL around 8.30 am and had our breakfast at Seetharam opposite Serdang KTM.

After reaching home, a friend of mine came. He brought along a liqueur chocolate given by another friend, for us to taste.

Swiss milk chocolate with Tennessee Whiskey

It contained Jack Daniel's Whiskey 8.5% inside the chocolate. It was just a small amount and we just had a piece each so it didn't actually make us drunk or what-so-ever. But you could taste the liqueur inside. Just a bite and SPLUSH! It exploded..

Hahaha.. Don't worry nothing exploded. Just kidding.. ;p
The liqueur inside just leaked. It was nice la, sort of had a gassy taste. But I don't know how to describe the liqueur. Its an acquired taste I guess.

Around lunch time my friend and I went out as we had to run some errands for my father and also go to the bank. My sister followed us too.
After running the errands and going to the bank we went to Pappa Rich @ Kajang to have our lunch.
Its our first time here so we just had what we thought looked nice in the menu.

My friend ordered Dry Curry Mee with Fried Egg and also Carrot juice. The mee was good but the juice was  not.

I think the fried egg made it look better.

My sister had Nasi Lemak with Chicken Rendang. Overall their Nasi Lemak was good. The Chicken Rendang had a very nice aroma.

Erm.. It was more presentable when they served it but my sister had already start digging in by the time I took a snap. That explains the messy rice and missing part of the egg.

I had Prawn Mee and I found it to be mediocre only. It was quite blend. A little more spiciness would have been better.

Owh.. And they charge RM 0.60 for warm water. Everything came to about RM 41.35, inclusive of service charges.

I had been wanting to go to the Buddhist Temple for Wesak Day which I didn't go as my mother thought was not a good idea. She said it would be crowded and people might accidentally bump into me.

Despite not being able to go and visit Buddha at the temple, I got to catch a glimpse of him on the road when we were on the way back home after lunch. He was practically next to me on the road. Hahaha..

So any special plans for today with your special someone??

Its Valentines.. a day to celebrate love and affection with your loved ones.. be it your parents, husband, special boyfriend/girlfriend, friends or even siblings..

Even so i don't think we need to allocate a specific day just to show n shower love. It should be everyday..that will make any relationship more meaningful. You don't have to buy a bouquet of red roses on Valentines Day that'd cost a hole in your pocket, just to express your love. You don't have to do something extraordinary on this one day and not even bother for the rest of the days.

Its actually the small things that matters the most.. 

Simple actions of care and affection are more meaningful.. 

Many may have different opinions but this is what i think. Anyway enough about all the bla bla bla.. hehe.. I'd like share a very lovely song from Thumbelina. I really love the lyrics.. Some of the things that a girl would like to hear from a guy..
